Viber's Latest Updates 2023 Bringing New Business Opportunities
Since the first launch of Rakuten Viber it has evolved from a simple instant messaging VoIP application to a feature-rich business platform. Developers regularly expand their capabilities by introducing new functions to Viber.
So, in January 2023, the application received two important updates to improve the interaction between companies and customers: Business Inbox and Commercial Account.
Business Inbox — all business chats in a single tab
On January 24th, Rakuten globally launched a new function in Viber called Business Inbox. This is a special space for distinguishing between personal correspondence and business chats with commercial accounts.
In the interface of the messenger, the function is presented as a separate folder, which is pinned to the top of the main page. Users can get Business Inbox by updating the app, or the feature will appear automatically if the person has received business messages before.
Rakuten Viber developers have explained that all business chats, order statuses, transactional notifications, alerts, and other commercial emails will be transferred to Business Inbox by default. Users can move chats from a folder to the main list while adding chats with companies without a verification checkbox is impossible.
Commercial Account — more trust of users
This function of Viber is also aimed at improving the customer experience. Searchable Commercial Account allows users to discover brands and initiate instant messenger conversations.
To find the company you want to interact with, you need to enter its name in the search bar. Next, select an official account with a checkmark and a communication method.
By logging into the Commercial Account, users will see the brand name, logo, description, website and other contact information.
What other updates can you expect from Rakuten Viber this year?
In a press release, the company notes that the new features provide users with more security and more opportunities to interact with brands.
This year, another function is also expected to be released globally - Viber Pay (a similar development of WhatsApp Payments) - for interacting with finances within the application. The beta is currently available to residents of Germany and Greece.
Thus, Rakuten Viber becomes a complete platform that meets the needs of businesses in communicating with customers. By using this app as a communication channel, brands can engage with followers more effectively.
